I’m sure you’ve seen the Melissa and Doug section at your local Walmart or Target, always filled with adorable wooden toys, making you feel all nostalgic. There is just something so cool about simple wood toys, or is that just me?
I love that their products don’t take a million batteries and aren’t built with a thousand tiny plastic parts to break. Every product we have from Melissa and Doug is great quality.
Here are a few of our toddlers current favorite Melissa and Doug toys!
**Some of them are out of stock on the actual Melissa and Doug website, so I’ve also placed the amazon links at the bottom of the post;)
Wooden Latches Board

I jumped the gun and bought this for Everest’s 2nd Christmas, when he was just over a year old. It was way too advanced for him then, but let me tell you, it gets taken out several times a week these days. He LOVES it and no joke, will play with it for almost an hour sometimes! Hello shower and eating a snack in peace! Each latch allows a different colored door to open, revealing different numbers and types animals! From colors, to counting, to motor skills, this thing is great.
100 Piece Wood Blocks Set
You can’t really go wrong with a good ole set of wooden blocks right? He got these this past Christmas and uses them constantly. Great quality, vivid colors, and a good assortment of shapes:)
Classic ABC Block Cart
Ok, I don’t know about you guys, but my toddler is obsessed with pulling things around. We have phones, puppies, blocks, everything on a string. If it comes on a string, it’s automatically more interesting.
ABC Picture Boards
I’ll be completely honest with you guys, Everest hasn’t ever actually played with these… They are going in his Easter basket. But that being said, I know he will think they are awesome. He is finally interested in starting to learn some letters (thank you super weird but actually pretty educational YouTube videos). They seem to be good quality and the pictures are cute!
Large Farm Jumbo Knob Puzzle – 8 pieces
We’ve got several puzzles from Melissa and Doug and they are all quickly becoming favorites. These ones are great for little hands because the pieces are chunkier and they’ve got the knobs, making them super easy to grab! They’ve got like 20 different styles as well, so they’ll never get bored:)
Triangular Crayons – 24 pack
Ok, let’s be real here, these are probably more of a mom favorite than an Everest favorite. He probably could care less what shape his crayons are in, but can I get a hallelujah from all the parents out there? No more ducking under the table 25 times to retrieve run away markers or crayons! Maybe this is old news to some, but its genius either way!
Non-Roll Markers Set
Everest got these markers as a gift and I loved them so much I decided to order the non-roll crayons as well! Bright vibrant colors and they don’t quickly dry out when someone with the attention span of… say a toddler? Forgets to put the cap back on;)
Lace & Trace Farm
We were given a giant bag of lace and trace panels by a dear friend of ours who use to work at a daycare. They were a little old for Everest at the time but I just busted them out a few weeks ago for the first time in forever, and my toddler seriously amazed me! He is getting the hang of it so quick! And I promise, this is one of those things that will keep them busy longer than 5 minutes;)
